We back founders in places like Tanzania, Palo Alto, Seoul and Ho Chi Minh City. The bridge is the network: co-investors such as Ethos Fund, operators in the room, and shared judgment across markets. Occasional travel happens when it truly helps; it is not how every relationship starts.
We are not hands-on with every portfolio company. We do have the operating experience when it is needed and requested. Several of us also sit on boards in and around the portfolio, which is where useful introductions come from, and which caps how much new we take on at any one time.

Usually one or two conversations with the people who make the decision. There is nobody else to convince afterwards.
If we are curious after the first meeting, we send follow-up questions on the deck, product and entity, and ask for the files you can share: financials, product materials, and anything else relevant. The more complete the pack, the faster this step moves.
Most decisions land inside two to four weeks from first conversation. Timing depends mostly on how prepared the materials are.
